Thanks to their large, homogeneous cross-sections, glulam structures have good protective properties in the event of a fire. The nature of the material makes it stable during the initial phase of a fire and that stability increases with greater dimensions. Glulam is slow to catch fire and it burns slowly.

Glulam comprises finger-jointed lengths of wood that are glued together to form beams of the desired dimensions. In relation to its weight, glulam has a higher load-bearing capacity than both steel and concrete. This makes it the ideal material for creating buildings with large spans and flexible layouts.
Easy to work on
Large elements enable rapid assembly, which is good for the overall economics of the project. Glulam can be worked on using traditional hand tools and simplifies the installation of utilities.

Glulam contributes to light and pleasant indoor environments. Moisture-buffering properties create a good indoor climate and exposed wooden details can become key elements of attractive design solutions.

Screw glued cross-sections
In addition to the standard dimensions in which our glulam is manufactured, you can also choose a screw glued cross-section, where two or more glulam elements are combined to create the dimensions required for the object in question.
Specialist solutions
For objects with special requirements, we are also able to develop specialist solutions where a number of glulam posts work together to increase the load-bearing capacity, for example in the form of hollow columns.
