Buy less, get more
Holmen UNIQ and Holmen UNIQ Extra are produced from wood fibres that are used for the first time in a termomechanical pulping process (TMP). The stiffness and elasticity of the fresh fibres give our papers a strong advantage: the higher bulk. Thanks to the bulky properties, the paper is more voluminous and weighs less while remaining the qualities that come from thickness. The paper can be used in a lower grammage, and it's available from 37 gsm. It still lives up to the same quality aspects when it comes to opacity as well as image and colour reproduction.
Colour reproduction is so important for a paper used in direct marketing. Holmen UNIQ will give you that extra edge - a light weight paper with power to communicate.
Choose Holmen UNIQ or Holmen UNIQ Extra instead of a standard SC-paper. Your products can become up to 16 percent lighter but with the same thickness. Just imagine what that does to your distribution costs. With higher bulk you can buy fewer tonnes. You will still get the same print surface. Or you can buy the same amount of paper as before and add more pages or more copies.
Uniquely super-calendered
Calendering is a process where the paper is pressed between two hot rollers under high pressure with added steam. The process is not unlike ironing a shirt. It is used for changing the properties of the paper surface and give it more gloss. The process is mechanical and the paper is uncoated.
A super-calendered paper always includes an amount of filler (pigment) in the paper-making recipe. What is it then that is so unique about Holmen UNIQ? The secret is in the primary ingredient, the strength and elasticity of the fresh fibre. It enables you to go for a very low grammage paper if you like. Super-light, even and smooth is the result.
A climate smart paper choice
Holmen Paper operates according to globally recognized standards and Holmen UNIQ is available with FSC® (FSC ID FSC-C020071), PEFC™/05-33-134 and EU Ecolabel certification. The production of Holmen UNIQ has a low impact on the environment. The wood fibre used is 100 percent traceable, originating from sustainably managed Swedish forests. This means that you can rest assured that the raw materials come from a clean and reliable source.
