Discover a lighter way to package your products with T6 from Holmen. An innovative lightweight kraft liner that can lower your shipping costs as well as your CO2 footprint.
One of the most important parts when developing a new product is getting feedback from customers. So, we will have a close collaboration with a limited number of customers that will get the opportunity to try the paper during the startup process and give feedback to the development work.

In a perfect world, all the paper that we produce is weightless and stronger than today. That is what we are aiming for, but we realise that it is going to take time and be be pretty hard to get there. But with that in mind, we will continue our strive to challenge and change the packaging industry to become lighter. One of the, in our opinion, most interesting areas to develop and be a part of.
In Sweden, 516 million tonnes of goods are transported on trucks every year. Swedes shop e-commerce goods for 250 billion SEK, and 170 million tonnes of containerboard is produced every year. Packaging and transports don’t seem to be declining. Getting your goods delivered unharmed is essential, but packaging materials also have a big environmental impact.
Here we can truly make a difference with smarter and lighter packaging materials that lead to more efficient logistics and a better outlook for the environment. If we can lower the weight of all our transports, use less raw materials in everything we do, then it will be better for the environment, the economy, and us humans.
Every gram counts in the quest for lighter transports. The fact that we also succeed in making more board from the same amount of raw material, while releasing 83% less CO2 than the average European paper producer, decreases the total imprint of the board’s life cycle even more. In our ambition to save grammes, we have started to work on the core of the packaging.
To increase production of Holmen's new packaging product, we are investing SEK 450 million in rebuilding one of the paper machines at Braviken Paper Mill. The redevelopment will give us even better conditions to produce lightweight, strong, packaging products.
Access to locally sourced wood from sustainably managed forests and fossil-free electricity means that both of Holmen's paper mills are able to continuously develop our product offering, not least in new segments within packaging.
We have been around for the last 400 years and have lived this long by always adapting, growing with the community and challenging traditions.
"After this investment, we will be able to produce a kraft liner product that meets the quality requirements for demanding applications with less material consumption than established products. " says Tommy Wiksand, Vice President Business Development Paper.
