How much water is used to produce one tonne of paper? It's hard to give a general answer to that question, but lot of water is needed in paper production. However, the water we use at our paper mills is only surface water, borrowed from nearby rivers and streams. We clean the water, use it and reuse it, then clean it again, before we release it back into the ecosystem.
Well-designed processes, and a system for controlling and monitoring all the different stages the water goes through, are imperative to ensure the low environmental impact. We make tests on pollution and other factors throughout the aquatic system, and follow the condition of the receiving water bodies in accordance with our permits from the Land and Environment Court. All these factors are reported transparently in our environmental reports.
