Your future challenge 

A vacancy has arisen for a Board Machine & Coating and Chemicals Day Operator reporting to the Board Machine Manager.  The successful candidate will use their knowledge of COSHH and COMAH to successfully coordinate raw materials.  From quality checks on delivery to safe storage and processing, the incumbent will ensure stock control processes are adhered to. 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Ensuring the safe and correct unloading of chemicals as defined in the department procedure
  • Planning and scheduling of production and bleaching chemicals and maintaining correct stock levels
  • Taking samples for analysis of incoming chemicals
  • Assisting with the unloading/loading of machine clothing
  • Supporting BM2/CC operators where required, including planned shutdowns
  • Contribute to area improvements and delivery procedures 

The successful Day Operator will have: 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent ability to co-ordinate activities
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive approach to improvement activities
  • Good knowledge of product quality and customer requirements
